Kushimoto Wakayama Pref. is the southwest part of main island and is one of the best diving spot in Japan. Kushimoto is located in high latitudes but its water temperature is not lower than 15 centigrade. Mixture of extratropical and tropical creatures creates very unique scenery. Its scenery is not like Okinawa or Izu, but is Kushimoto original! Over 1000 kinds of fish fascinates Kansai and all Japanese divers. Road access to Kushimoto is very much improved recently.
